Jun 08 2009: The Cable Guy

8 06 2009

Another TV picture. I promise it’s the last one for awhile and I’ll get more creative. But I just wanted to note that I got the TVs all set up and I had the cable guy out this morning to get it all set up. It was amazing service. I ordered it on Friday at noon and got an appointment for Monday between 7-8. The tech was incredibly nice and helpful. So now I have HD channels and premium channels. It’s overwhelming actually. This is going to sound so dumb, but my whole life I wanted a great cable package. Growing up we didn’t really have one, and in my adult life I definitely didn’t. So now I’ve got it and I’m pretty excited. I could easily see myself canceling it after a few months, but for just right now I want to have it all for my new TVs.

Anytime a cable guy is mentioned, I think of the scene from Big Lebowski transcribed below!

From the Big Lebowski:
[Maude shows the porn video starring Bunny to the Dude]
Sherry in ‘Logjammin’: [on video] You must be here to fix the cable.
Maude Lebowski: Lord. You can imagine where it goes from here.
The Dude: He fixes the cable?
Maude Lebowski: Don’t be fatuous, Jeffrey.

Jun 07 2009: Tornadoes

7 06 2009

So I’m cheating today. I have no idea why I didn’t take a picture, but I guess I was just dumbfounded. Today there were tornadoes all over the Denver-metro area. I went to Target and just as I was pulling in, there were people standing outside of their cars looking up at the sky (not a good sign). So I too looked to the heavens and saw the funnel cloud out east. It was quite a sight. Stupidly, I didn’t take a picture, so I had to “borrow” one from the newspaper. There was structure damage to some homes and business in southeast Denver metro, but no serious injuries.

Wow!

Wow!

PS…today is the 12th anniversary of my high school graduation!

Jun 06 2009: Nerdy Day

6 06 2009

Even though the weather was just incredible today, I decided to spend most of my day in my office. Yes, on a Saturday. I wanted to rebuild my work computer, update it’s operating system, and just have a fresh start. It’s about two years old and definitely needed it. I also swapped hard drives, so I’m now using the 500 GB, versus the 250 GB hard drive as my startup disk. Besides rebuilding my computer, I also worked on my new consolidated blog, which should be up around June 14. When the time comes, I’ll be decommissioning this blog at this location. Don’t worry though, if you like these posts and you’re someone who has commented, then I’ll be sure to send you a link to my consolidated blog! If you have never commented before, but you want to keep following these posts, now’s the time! Comment below and I’ll get in touch with you too.

Jun 05 2009: Good on TVs

5 06 2009

Well, one thing led to another and when I decided to upgrade my cable package to accommodate my new TV, I decided to just go for it and get new TVs for the whole house. I was able to afford this because I recently finished paying off my furniture credit card (same as cash, interest free), and I could take on a new same as cash, interest free payment. So on Friday I got everything scheduled with the cable company, picked out the televisions I wanted to buy and went to pick them up. I am very happy with the purchase (and apparently, Persephone is too)! So now I’m good on TVs for a long time (knock on wood).

Ive had great luck with Samsung technology!

Jun 04 2009: Sweat

4 06 2009

Today was my third workout with EA Sports Active. You hear it time and time again how great exercise can make you feel. I know this really well, because once upon a time I was an avid exerciser, particularly during a time when I was in high school. I was playing varsity tennis that had grueling practices (seriously, we ran…a lot), and then after practice I was doing step-aerobics (ah, the 90s), or going to lift weights. On top of all that, I was also taking private tennis lessons and playing tennis on nights and weekends. You would think that I was awesome at tennis, sadly, not as good as my other teammates, but I sure played hard. You would also think I was super fit. Once again, not so much. My diet should have been better. But I did feel great. I loved it. And over the years, I have gone in and out of phases of exercise. I’m so glad to be in an exercise phase right now. I love that feeling of just finishing a work out and your neck and back is sweaty and you can drink a whole glass of water without even trying. So tonight’s picture is post work out. It’s not a sexy picture by any means (or that exciting, hence the tinting), but I think you can tell that I feel goooood.

I actually wiped my eye make up off on my shirt. Super sexy.

Jun 03 2009: James Scott

3 06 2009

The awesome moderators of the Days Of Our Lives (EJ & Sami) message board set up a chat with the EJ part of the equation, actor James Scott. Members were allowed to submit questions and he spent the better part of an hour answering them. About 130 members watched on as he told us pretty much what we wanted to hear. Then for the last twenty minutes of the chat, it was opened up to our comments and questions. I told my friend Jen, who is a wonderful contributing member of our board (she does amazing Play-By-Plays of Canadian episodes, which are a day ahead of the US), that this would be my picture. She also does a Project 365 blog, so we had a nice laugh about it. It was a pretty cool event and he’s a cool guy.

Dont ask me why I didnt just take a screenshot. Durr.

Jun 02 2009: Borders

2 06 2009

Tonight I went to a Creative Memories Border Bonanza event and bought a ton of new borders for scrapbook pages. Borders are great, because they are completely adorable and make pages so easy to create. But, the only problem with borders is that I have way too many of them. I collect them and never use them. So I pulled out a handful of the borders from my stash so you could see just how much I don’t need new borders.

I feel like tossing them into the air like leaves raked up off the grass.

Jun 01 2009: Active

1 06 2009

Today was an interesting day. I woke up again with a terrible ear ache. So I called in sick. Then after a hot bath and more over-the-counter ear medicine it cleared it up. So all wasn’t lost. I started my EA Sports Active 30 Day Challenge and it was great. It really kicked my ass. You can read about all that over here.

Ready to get active.

May 31 2009: Catching Up

31 05 2009

With modern technology, that is. Here’s my replacement TV for the bedroom. I don’t have a ton of money to spend (since I just bought a Wii), so I had to do it on the cheap, but I do feel kind of cool that I bought my first flat panel television. It’s great so far!

I like how light they are to move around. My Sony was a little beast.
